The recent tragedy in our sleepy little town of Buena Vista, Colorado is an in-your-face reminder of the brevity and preciousness of life. Our hearts go out to those in our community impacted by the loss of five family members. Who knew on this beautiful fall day of choosing to enjoy the wonder of God’s creation that this family would face such a horrific event.
All we can say is that this is an amazing reminder that none of us know the number of our days, only God. It is so hard for us to understand the way He works. All we can do is to try to depend on His promises to keep our compasses straight and pointed in the right direction. Life is so uncertain.
If there are any lessons to be learned it is to know what is important and try to keep those priorities before each day that God gives us another chance. As I sat in my office that Monday morning I am amazed at the stark contrast of listening to the story of a client desperately trying to regain their footing to the fact that four miles down the road a family of five were literally and physically knocked off their feet, never to rise.
Thank you God that with each rising of the sun You choose to give us one more chance to love You and others. Our prayers go with those who lost…
